Q 1 short note 1) atmosphere
Answers
Explanation:
An atmosphere is a layer or a set of layers of gases surrounding a planet. An atmosphere is more likely to be retained if the gravity it is subject to is high and the temperature of the atmosphere is low.
The atmosphere can be divided into layers based on its temperature. These layers are the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere and the thermosphere. A further region, beginning about 500 km above the Earth's surface, is called the exosphere.
Troposphere. The troposphere (between 0 and about 15 kilometers) is the first layer above the Earth's surface and contains approximately 85 to 90 % of the mass of the Earth's atmosphere.
Roughly, our atmosphere is 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, 1% argon, and trace amounts of many other gases plus variable amounts of water vapor
Explanation:
Atmosphere is a blanket of air and gases in our surroundings which protects us from radiation and ultraviolet rays of sunlight and keeping temperature maintain.
There are 5 layers of atmosphere:
- Thermosphere
- Exosphere
- Mesosphere
- stratosphere
- Troposphere
Troposphere:
Troposphere is the lowest layer among all 4.it lies just above 10 km from us.mostly air is present in this layer.
Stratosphere:
Stratosphere is the layer which lies 50 km above the ground .This layer is warmer than other layer as we go above the temperature increases. In this layer the ozone is present which doing his function of absorbing harmful sun radiation and ultraviolet rays.
Mesosphere:
Mesosphere lies above the stratosphere which is 80-85 km above the ground. This layer is consider to be the coldest layer as here temperature is approximately -90°c To -85°c.
Thermosphere:
This is above the mesosphere and it is the warmer layer on the earth. As we go ahead there is a rise in temperature. This is because here harmful and ultraviolet rays are absorbed that's why there is increase in the temperature.
Exosphere:
Exosphere is the last layer as space begin from here. There is no air present in this layer.
