Answer:

EXPLANATION.

Linear pair of equation graphically.

(a) = 2x + 3y - 8 = 0.

(b) = x - 2y + 3 = 0.

From equation (1) we get,

(a) = 2x + 3y = 8.

put x = 1 in equation, we get.

⇒ 2(1) + 3y = 8.

⇒ 2 + 3y = 8

⇒ 3y = 8 - 2.

⇒ 3y = 6.

⇒ y = 2.

Co-ordinate = (1,2).

Put x = 4 in equation, we get.

⇒ 2(4) + 3y = 8.

⇒ 8 + 3y = 8.

⇒ 3y = 8 - 9.

⇒ 3y = 0.

⇒ y = 0.

Co-ordinate = (4,0).

(b) = x - 2y = -3.

put x = 1 in equation, we get.

⇒ 1 - 2y = -3.

⇒ -2y = -3 - 1.

⇒ -2y = -4.

⇒ y = 2.

Co-ordinate = ( 1,2).

put x = -3 in equation, we get.

⇒ - 3 - 2y = -3.

⇒ -2y = 0.

⇒ y = 0.

Co-ordinate = (-3,0).

To find areas of the triangle.

Area of Δ = 1/2 X B X H.

Area of (ΔAOC) = 1/2 X 7 X 2.

Area of (ΔAOC) = 7 sq. units.
