Answer:

1. GASTRIC GLANDS are present in the walls of the stomach and secrete GASTRIC JUICE.. The Gastric juice contains three substances-1)Hydrochloric acid,2)Enzyme Pepsin,3)Mucus……. Enzyme Pepsin helps in digestion of proteins and works on in the presence of an Acid

2. Stomach secretions are made up of hydrochloric acid, several enzymes, and a mucus coating that protects the lining of your stomach. Hydrochloric acid helps your body to break down, digest, and absorb nutrients such as protein. It also eliminates bacteria and viruses in the stomach, protecting your body from infection.

3.Digestive enzymes helps in digesting complex food materials into simpler molecules for absorption by the body.

4.Two events that occur during photosynthesis are : (i) Absorption of light energy by chlorophyll. (ii) Conversion of light energy into chemical energy and splitting of water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen.

5.Starch is the internal energy reserve in plants. No, animals do not have the same energy reserve. The energy reserve in animals is glycogen.

6.The digestion in the alimerntary canal

starts from the mouth itself. The enzyme

Salivary amylase present in the mouth

helps in partial digestion of starch. About

30% of the starch is digested in the

mouth. The enzyme, salivary amylase

breaks down the starch into Maltose,

Iso-maltose and Alpha dextrin.

Functions of saliva;

1. It helps in softning the food.

2. It helps in making the food wet.

3. It helps in partial digestion of starch.

hope it's help...!
