Q.1 The speed of a train is 80 km/hr. It is
(i) increased to 130 km/hr. Find the percentage increase.
(ii) decreased to 65 km/hr. Find the percentage decease.

Answer:

(i) Speed of the train = 80kmph Speed increased to = 130kmph increase in speed = 130 - 80 =50kmph

percentage = 50/80 x 100= 62.50%

percentage increase=62.50%

(ii) (80-65)/80 x 100

= 15/80 x100

= 1500/80

= 18.75%

percentage decease=18.75%

so (50÷80]×100=62.5%
