Let the angles be 5x and 13x

According to question

5x+13x=180

18x=180

x= 180/18

x=10

Angles are

5x = 5×10= 50

13x= 13×10= 130

Smaller is 50

Solution

Given ,

  • two supplementary angles are in ratio 5:13

To find ,

  • we have to find the measure of the smaller angle ?

So ,

  • we know that the Supplementary angle is 180° .
  • Now let the ratio Be in "X" .

  • So , it will form a equation like this ; 5x + 13x = 180° .

Now solving this equation we get ;

=> 5x + 13x = 180°

=> 18x = 180°

=> X = 180°/18

=>X = 10°

Now , each angel is ;

  • 5(X) = 5(10)=50°
  • 18(X) = 18(10)=180°

The smallest angel is 50° and the greater angel is 180° .
