Q-1) Why is solid carbon dioxide known as dry ice?
Q-2) How will we demonstrate that water vapour is present in their atmosphere?

because it looks like ice and when it melts it goes from solid to liquid.

1.Dry ice is basically solidified carbon dioxide, and is called so because the gas on solidifying gives an appearance similar to that of ice. Unlike ordinary ice, it does not melt into a liquid but changes directly into CO2  gas , phenomenon known as sublimation.


2.To demonstrate water vapour is present in the atmosphere , we can follow a simple activity.Take a steel glass and pour chilled water in it . Leave it for sometime. after sometime,you will find some water on the outer surface of the glass.

This is because of the water vapour. When water vapour , which is a gas came in contact of a cold surface (glass),it condensed to form water
