★ During indigestion, stomach produces too much acid which causes pain and irritation.

★ Antacid which is a base is taken to neutralize the acid effect.

• pH change leads to tooth decay.

pH of mouth goes below 5.5 by eating sugary foods. Such foods secrete acid. This corrodes the enamel causing tooth decay
