Solution :–

Given that,

Fraction of one half of students in a school are girls = $\dfrac{1}{2}$

Fraction of girls who studying in lower classes = ⟹ $\dfrac{2}{3}$ of $\dfrac{1}{2}$

It means, we need to multiply the fraction of girls in a school and fraction of girls who studying in lower classes.

So,

⟹ $\dfrac{1}{2}$ × $\dfrac{2}{3}$

⟹ $\dfrac{1 \times 2}{2 \times 3}$

⟹ $\dfrac{\cancel2}{\cancel6}$

Cancel 2 and 6 by 2, we get $\dfrac{1}{3}$

⟹ $\dfrac{1}{3}$

Hence,

The fraction of girls who studying in lower classes is $\dfrac{1}{3}$
