Given :–

  • One half of students in a school are girls.
  • \dfrac{2}{3} of these girls are studying in lower cases.

To Find :–

  • Fraction of girls are studying in lower classes.

Solution :–

Given that,

Fraction of one half of students in a school are girls =  \dfrac{1}{2}

Fraction of girls who studying in lower classes = ⟹  \dfrac{2}{3} of  \dfrac{1}{2}

It means, we need to multiply the fraction of girls in a school and fraction of girls who studying in lower classes.

So,

 \dfrac{1}{2} ×  \dfrac{2}{3}

 \dfrac{1 \times 2}{2 \times 3}

 \dfrac{\cancel2}{\cancel6}

Cancel 2 and 6 by 2, we get  \dfrac{1}{3}

 \dfrac{1}{3}

Hence,

The fraction of girls who studying in lower classes is  \dfrac{1}{3}
