Step-by-step explanation:

the perimeter of a rectangle is 40m

let breadth is x

and length is5x-4 meter

we know that

2(length+breadth)=perimeter

2(5x-4+x)=40

2(6x-4)=40

6x-4=40/2

6x-4=20

6x=20+4

6x=24

x=24/6

x=4(breadth)

and length is (5x-4) meter=(5×4-4)meter=16 meter
