let smaller side be x

ab = x + 4

bc = 2x - 6

ca = x

perimeter of triangle = 50 ( given )

ab + bc + ca = perimeter

x + 4 + 2x - 6 +x = 40

2x + x + x + 4 - 6 = 40

4x - 2 = 40

4x = 42

x = 42/4

x = 21/2

x = 10.5

ab = x + 4

    = 10.5 + 4

    = 14.5

bc = 2x - 6

    = 2[10.5] - 6

    = 21 - 6

    = 15

ca = 10.5

area of triangle = 1/2b * h

                           =1/2 15 * 10.5

                           = 7.5 * 10.5

                           = 78.75
