picture (cartoon) showing how ozone molecules are formed is shown below.

A family member of yours who has never studied about this tries to understand
the cartoon pictures but is unable to understand it. He knows that there are no
such living forms in atmosphere but he is not able to understand names like 0,02
and O3 and also the process explained.
How would you explain it to that family member? State in your own words.

Answer:

The atmospheric oxygen is continuously getting decomposed by the ultraviolet radiation and thus break the O2 molecules into atomic form and this atoms react vigorously with another atmospheric O2 molecules so they keep reacting and forming O3

Explanation:

The triatomic ozone molecules become diatomic molecular oxygen with another free oxygen atom O3 +hv—>O2 +O

Then the atomic oxygen quickly reacts with another oxygen molecule to reform Ozone.

I. e. O+O2—>O3. and thus it becomes a continuous process
