Answer:

let 1/x=a and 1/y=b

2/x +3/y=13

2a+3b=13....equation 1

5/x -4/y=-2

5a-4b=-2....equation 2

in equation 1 and 2

5(2a+3b)=5×13

10a+15b=65.....equation 3

2(5a-4b)=2×-2

10a-8b=-4......equation 4

in equation 3 and 4

10a+15b-(10a-8b)=65-(-4)

10a+15b-10a+8b=65+4

23b=69

b=69/23

b=3

1/y=b

1/y=3

y=1/3

from equation 2

5a-4b=-2

5a-4(3)=-2

5a-12=-2

5a=-2+12

5a=10

a=2

1/x=a

1/x=2

x=1/2
