Q.11 The area of a trapezium is 475 cm2 and the height is 19 cm. Find the lengths of its parallel sides if
one side is 4 cm greater than the other.​

Solution:

Area of trapezium = 475 cm square

In trapezium height remains same which rest in between 2 parallel lines of different length. Different length because if length remains same then the figure will convert into square or rectangle.

Height of trapezium = 19 cm  

One side of figure = 4 cm greater than other one.

Area =1/2h × sum of paralles sides

=) 1/2×19×(2x+4)

9.5(2x+4)=475

2x+4=50

2x=46

X=23

Smaller side is 23 cm.
