Given:
Perimeter of equilateral triangle=60cm
To find:
Length of side of triangle
Solution:
We know that equilateral triangle has all it's side of equal length.
So let us assume length of each side be x.
Also we know that perimeter of a certain figure can be obtained by adding all it's sides or sum of all sides.
So:
Perimeter of equilateral ∆=(x)+(x)+(x)
We have given perimeter of ∆=60cm
⇒ 60cm=(x)+(x)+(x)
⇒ 60cm=3x
⇒ (60cm)/3=x
⇒ 20cm=x
Our assumption was that the length of each side of triangle x=20cm.
Hence length of each side of equilateral triangle is 20cm.
