\bf\tt{\underline{Question:-}}

  • Solve the following pair of linear equations x + y = 14 and x - y = 4.

\bf\tt{\underline{Given:-}}

  • x + y = 14 --- equ(¡)
  • x - y = 4 ---equ(¡¡)

\bf\tt{\underline{Solution:-}}

\sf :→ x + y = 14

\sf :→ x = 14 - y

\bf\tt{\underline{Now\: substituting\:value\:of\:X\:in\:equ(¡¡):-}}

\sf :→ x - y = 4

\sf :→ 14 - y - y = 4

\sf :→ 14 - 2y = 4

\sf :→ -2y = 4 - 14

\sf :→ -2y = -10

\sf :→ y = 10/5

\sf :→ y = 5

\bf\tt{\underline{Again\: substituting\:value\:of\:y\:in\:equ(¡):-}}

\sf : → x - y = 4

\sf :→ x -5 = 4

\sf :→ x = 4+5

\sf :→ x = 9

\bf\tt{\underline{Hence:-}}

  • The required value of x is 9 and y is 5

GIVEN :-

  • x + y = 14.
  • x - y = 4.

TO FIND :-

  • The Value Of X And Y.

SOLUTION :-

x + y = 14.

We can say that,

⇛ x = 14 - y.

So, We Can Put in Equation [2].

So, The Equation Formed :-

14 - y - y = 4.

⇛ 14 - 2y = 4.

⇛ -2y = 4 - 14.

⇛ -2y = -10.

⇛ y = 10/2.

y = 5.

Now, Calculating X.

x + y = 14.

⇛ x + 5 = 14.

x = 9.

Hence, The Value Of :-

  • x = 9.
  • y = 5.
