Answer:

(i)Mg->Mg2+ +2e(oxidation)

2F+2e->Fe2(reduction)

Mg+2F->MgF2(redox reaction)

(ii)Polar solvents

(iii)Aqueous solution of ionic compounds are able to conduct electricity due to the presence of ions by which they can transfer electrons.

Answer:

1. Answer is given in the picture.

2. The solvent in which ionic compounds are generally soluble is water as water has a high amount of dielectric constant.

3. Ionic compounds have ions which have charge in them. In solid state, they hve such a high crystal lattice in them that ions are unable to move. But if they are converted to aqueous state then ions are free to move and thus, they are able to conduct electricity.

Hope this helps.
