To find : the equivalent capacitor across the points A and B is ..

solution: you see, there is no any capacitor between points A and C. so we can assume these as a single point.

now , the arrangement of the capacitors is shown in figure.

step 1 : two capacitors are joined in parallel as you can see in figure.

so, C₁ = 2μF + 2μF = 4μF

step 2 : 4μF and 2μF are joined in series.

so, C = 4μF 2μF/(4μF + 2μF) = 4/3 μF

step 3 : 4/3 μF and 2μF are joined in parallel,

so, equivalent capacitance, Ceq = 4/3 + 2 = 10/3 μF

therefore the euivalent capacitor across the points A and B is 10/3 μF.
