Q 14/60 Four point charges are placed on vertices of a
square of side 1 m as shown in the figure. The net

Given :

Length of side of a square = 1m

To Find :

The electric field at center of the square = ?

Solution :

The electri field comes outward for a positive charge.As all the charges are positive the field comes outwards.

The four charges are equal and have same magnitude of charge,so they will produce same amount of electric field at center

The direction of electric field produced at center by two charges present at diagonals is opposite in direction so the charges get cancelled

The resultant electric field at the center is zero
