Explanation

The verb in the first sentence is ‘went’. Its tense is ‘Past Simple’. Past Simple Tense form ends in ed or V2. Simple past tense form of the irregular verbs is used. We use did+V1 form in negatives and questions. For example,’ The car did not start.’ and ‘What did you tell the police?’

The tense of the second sentence is Simple present. In Simple Present Tense, we use base form of a verb. When the subject is singular, we add -s/es with the base form of the verb (V1+s/es). In interrogative sentence we use 'Do/Does+V1+O?'structure.

With 'I', 'we', 'you’, ‘they' we use do+V1?

With 'he', 'she', 'it' we use does+V1?

The third sentence has been made interrogative by adding 'is' in front of the subject.
