Answer: (A) 51 cm²

Nice question.

Area of the first square = 2² = 4 cm²

Area of the second square = 4² = 16 cm²

Area of the third square = 6² = 36 cm²

The sum of these areas

= 4 + 16 + 36 = 56 cm²

But, we have to deduct the areas of the square portions inscribed.

The side of the square portion of the second square, which is inscribed with the first square, is half the side of the first square, i.e., 1 cm.

So the area of this portion = 1² = 1 cm²

Also, the side of the square portion of the third square inscribed with the second square is half the side of the second square, i.e., 2 cm.

So the area of this portion = 2² = 4 cm²

The sum of both these areas of the inscribed portions = 1 + 4 = 5 cm²

Difference of the total area and the inscribed area = 56 - 5 = 51 cm²

So, option (A) is the answer.

Hope this helps. Plz mark it as the brainliest.

Plz ask me if you've any doubts.

Thank you. :-))
