Answer:

if the side is increased by 25% then side will be 125x/100

so area of square = side^2

                              =125x/100*125x/100

                              = 15625x/10000

=1.5625 unit sq    is the answer

I hope this will help you...

Let the side of a square be a

Area of square= a²

If the side of a square is increased by 25%,

New side of square= 125a/100=5a/4

New Area = (5a/4)²= 25a²/16

Increase \: Area= \frac{25 {a}^{2} }{16} - {a}^{2} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = \frac{25 {a}^{2} - 16a ^{2} }{16} \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = \frac{9 {a}^{2} }{16} \\ Increase\% =[ \frac{9 {a}^{2} }{ \frac{16}{ {a}^{2} } } \times 100]\% \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = [ \frac{9 {a}^{2} }{16} \times \frac{1 }{a^{2} } \times 100]\% \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = [ \frac{225}{4} ]\% \\ \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: = 56.25\%
