\large\to{\underbrace{\underline{\sf{Understanding\:the\:concept:-}}}}

\implies Here in the question we are given 2 rational numbers that are -3/12 and 1/4. Now the question has asked us to find out 5 rational numbers between -3/12 and 1/4.

\large : \implies HOW TO DO:-

\large : \mapsto Here to find 5 rational numbers between the given rational numbers first of all we have take the L.C.M of denominators. Then we have to find 5 numbers so we will take a digit greater than 5 that is 6. Then we have to multiply 6 with both the numerators and the denominators. Then we will get 2 rational numbers between which we will get the 5 numbers that will be our answer.

ANSWER:-

◍ Five rational numbers = -17/72, -14/72, -1/72, 3/72, 4/72 and 5/72.

GIVEN:-

⚩ 1st rational number = -3/12

⚩ 2nd rational number = 1/4

TO FIND:-

» We have to find 5 rational numbers between -3/12 and 1/4

SOLVING STEP BY STEP:-

 \longrightarrow \sf{ \dfrac{ - 3}{12}  \: and \:  \dfrac{1}{4} }

 \longrightarrow \sf{Taking \: the \: L.C.M \: of \: 12 \: and \: 4.}

 \longrightarrow \sf{L.C.M \: of \: 12 \: and \: 4 = 12}

 \longrightarrow \sf{ \dfrac{ - 3}{12}  \: and \:  \dfrac{3}{12} }

  • Multiplying 6.

 \longrightarrow \sf{ \dfrac{ - 3 \times 6}{12 \times 6}  \:  \:  \:  \: and \:  \:  \:  \:  \dfrac{3 \times 6}{12 \times 6} }

 \longrightarrow \sf{ \dfrac{ - 3 \times 6}{12 \times 6} =  \dfrac{ - 18}{72}   \:  \:  \:  \: and \:  \:  \:  \:  \dfrac{3 \times 6}{12 \times 6} =  \dfrac{18}{72} }

  • Five rational numbers = -17/72, -14/72, -1/72, 3/72, 4/72 and 5/72. [Answer may vary]

Thus, we got the answer. Five rational numbers = -17/72, -14/72, -1/72, 3/72, 4/72 and 5/72.
