Question :

If one zero of the quadratic polynomial x² + 3x + k is 2 , then the value of k is

a. 10

b. 5

c. -10

d. -5

Solution :

Let ,

p(x) = x² + 3x + k

One root of the poly. is " 2 "

p(2) = 0

⇒ (2)² + 3(2) + k = 0

⇒ 4 + 6 + k = 0

⇒ 10 + k = 0

k = - 10

Option (d)

Answer : Value Of k = -10.

Correct Question : If one zero of the quadratic polynomial x² + 3x + k is 2, then the value of k is :-

a) 10.

b) 5.

c) -10.

d) -5.

☯️ Solution :

It is Given that,

One Of It's Zero = 2.

Now, Put the value Of x = 2.

⇒ p(x) = x² + 3x + k.

⇒ p(2) = 2² + 3(2) + k.

⇒ (2)² + 3(2) + k = 0

⇒ 4 + 6 + k = 0

⇒ 10 + k = 0

k = -10.

Hence, Value Of k = -10.
