What is the purpose of recrystallizing solid compounds?
While recrystallizing a compound, you heated the compound in water until it dissolved completely.
You filtered the clear solution through cotton into a beaker. You were supposed to keep this beaker
undisturbed to allow crystals to form. However, you mistakenly placed it in an ice bath. To your
surprise, you got a good yield of product almost immediately! But the crystal quality was poor. Why
