The price after the first discount = 100 ®- 20®

= 80 ®

The next discount = 10 % of 80®

= 80 × 10 / 100 = 8®

The price after the 2nd discount = ®80 - 8

=72®

The net s. p. = 72 ®

The single discount to the equivalent given discount

= ( 100 - 72 )% = 28 %

Hence, 28 % is a single discount
