ANSWER

1) Gaps are left between railway tracks because of expansion and contraction. In summers due to heat the railway tracks expand themselves and in winter they contract. Gap is kepted between the railway tracks because it should not be bent as in summer , it will be expanded .

2) We can open the metal lid of a jam bottle by heating it as due to heat it will expand and it can be easily opened.

Q2,.THERE ARE GAP BETWEEN RAILWAY TRACK BECAUSE IN WINTER THE IRON (METAL )GETS CONTRACTED SO THEY USE BITS TO FILL THAT GAP BUT IN SUMMER IT GETS EXPANDED.SO THE METAL MAY NOT CURVE DUE TO EXPANSION .GAP ARE LEFT TO MINIMISE THE ACCIDENT . Q3.
