To me, all options are wrong,

We added 1 (+1) in each term to become 6:5

QUESTION:

20 - What number should be added or subtracted from each term in the ratio 11:9 so that it become 6:5 .

SOLUTION:

Let x to be added in each term.

Then, our required equation will be

 \sf \: \frac{11 + x}{9 + x} = \frac{6}{5} \\ \\ \sf \: 6(9 + x) = 5(11 + x) \\ \\ \sf \: 54 + 6x = 55 + 5x \\ \: \\ \sf \: - 55 + 54 = - 6x + 5x \\ \\ \sf \: - 1 = - x \\ \\ \sf \: x = 1

1 should be added to each term of 11:9 so that it became 6:5.
