2. These winds strike the mountain on the Western side which result in heavy rainfall .

3. By the time these winds reach the Eastern side,they are already dry as they have shed their moisture .

4. The Western Ghats block rain-bearing winds which cause rainfall on the western slopes.

5. South-west monsoon moves parallel to the Eastern Ghats, which cause less rainfall because in the Eastern Ghats unable to block moisture-laden winds.
