Correction of verbs :

  • Betty likes to dance .

➜ Betty is a singular subject . It means the doer of the action is only one . Thus , we use (-s) with the verb as per subject verb agreement that is a singular subject takes (-s) in verb form .

  • This table has a broken leg .

➜ The table is called as being one and also the reason is the tense is present continuous tense in case of having and present perfect in has . The meaning is same because both are in present tense but ; it doesn't matter .

  • The cake is delicious .

(Are) is a helping verb also called as an auxiliary . They are not purely verbs but do the function of the verb . Cake is singular ; so we use (is) which is exclusively used for singular subject .

  • Butterflies fly in my garden .

➜ Here if the sentence had (are) we would have changed the sentence into butterflies are flying in my garden question here is to change the tense so we have to change in the verb of fly . So changing it from present continuous to present perfect tense .

  • The bucket is full of water .

Again ; as tak question is changing the tense of the sentence we will change the auxiliary form from plural form (are) to (is) .

  • I am delighted to see you .

Being that is used to denote present continuous tense but am is used for present continuous tense. So , we have removed it .

  • I see flies in my room .

(I) is an exception in case of subject verb agreement it does not take (-s) form in verb .

  • They are my closest friends .

They as used for plural nouns and plural auxiliary verb form is are not is .
