R = 5 Ω

I = 2 A

V = IR = 10 V

R2 = new Resistance added in parallel

total new Resistance Rn =

1/Rn = 1/R + 1/R2

1/Rn = 1/5 + 1/5

5/Rn = 1 + 1

Rn = 5/2

Rn = 2.5 Ω

V = 10 V

Current = V/Rn = 10/2.5 = 4 Amp

Total current = 4A

in Old circuit 10/5 = 2 Amp

in new Circuit = 2 Amp

Total current will be doubled

but in earlier circuit current will remain same
