here R1 = 2 ohm , R2 = 3 ohm, R3 =5ohm,

1/Rp=1/R1+1/ R2+ 1/R3

1/Rp=1/2 + 1/3+ 1/5

1/Rp=3*5+2*5+2×3 *5

1/Rp= 15 + 10 + 6/30

=31 /30

= 1 ohm

Therefore,the total resistance is less than 2 and does not lies between 2 and 5.and it is also a characterstics of resistance combination like in parallel.
