If the price of a Jason phone is 20% more than that of a Franklin phone , then by what percent is the price of a Franklin phone less than that of a Jason phone

A. 20%

B. 16.66%

C. 25%

D. 30%

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the price of a Jason phone is 20% more than that of a Franklin phone

Let Price of Franklin phone = 100

Then price of a Jason phone = 100 + 20 = 120

So the price of Franklin phone less than that of a Jason phone = 120 - 100 = 20

Hence the required percentage is the price of a Franklin phone less than that of a Jason phone

 \displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{20}{120}  \times 100 \:  \%}

 \displaystyle \sf{ =  \frac{100}{6}  \:  \%}

 \displaystyle \sf{ =  16.66 \:  \%}
