Answer:

the cost of five articles was 200, 240 and 300 , but the second friend buyed 6 articles and the third friend have bought 8 articles.

Step-by-step explanation:

1st friend- 200 rupees.

2nd friend - 240 rupees for 5 articles but he bought 6 so first we have to find the cost for 1 article

240 / 5 , so we get 48 . The cost for 1 article is 48 rupees . so the cost of 6 articles is 48 (6) , we get 288 rupees .

3rd friend - 300 rupees for 5 articles but he bought 8 articles . so first we have to find cost for one article .

300/5 we get , 60 rupees , now for finding the cost of 8 articles we will multiply 60 with 8 , we get 480.

Now add the final values,

1st fr - 200

2nd fr - 288

3rd fr - 480

after adding we get , 968
