Q.3: A bag containing 5 Red, 7 Black and 3 green balls. A ball is drawn at random. Find the probability of getting a ball which is (i) Green in colour (ii) Not of Red colour.​

Total number of balls = 5 + 7 +3 = 15

(i) Number of red balls = 7

∴P(drawing a red ball) =715

(ii) Number of black or white balls = 5 + 3 = 8

∴P(drawing a black or white ball) =815

(iii) Number of balls which are not black = 15 - 5 = 10

∴P(drawing a ball that is not black) =105=23

Hence, the probability of getting a red ball, a black or white ball and not black ball are 715,815and23 respectively.
