2) The upper mantle is called the asthenosphere, 'astheno' is a Greek word meaning 'weak'. It is called the weak layer because it is in the liquid state where rock material deforms better and forms magma.

3) Earth’s magnetic field is developed due to a phenomenon called the dynamo effect which means the generation of a magnetic field happens due to the rotating current. This electric current is generated due to the earth’s rotation formed because of the temperature difference between the outer and inner core.
