The property is shown in a+b=b+a is the Commutative Property of Addition.

1) The commutative property of addition states that while adding any of the two numbers in any order that won't affect the final answer of the addition.

2) In the given question a and b are integers so the can be positive or negative:

Case 1: If a is positive and b is positive

a+b = b+a

Case 2: If a is positive and b is negative

a+(-b) = a-b

(-b)+a = -b+a = a-b

LHS = RHS

Case 3: If a is negative and b is positive

(-a)+b = -a+b

b+(-a) = b-a = -a+b

LHS = RHS

Case 4: If a is negative and b is negative

(-a)+(-b) = -a-b

(-b)+(-a) = -b-a = -a-b

LHS = RHS
