- Principle clause : The clause in the complex sentence which is capable of expressing its meaning independently is principle clause .
- Subordinate clause : The clause in a complex sentence which is dependent to principle clause to express its meaning is subordinate clause
★Compound sentence
- Definition : A sentence which comprises of two independent clauses or two co-ordinate clauses is called a compound sentence.
- For example : He is both a good student and an athlete .
