Given :- If the sum of the zeroes of the quadric polynomial (kx2 + 2x + 3k) is equal to the product of its zeroes, then find the value of k.

Solution :-

we know that, for a quadratic equation ax² + bx + c = 0 ,

  • sum of zeroes = (-b/a)
  • product of zeroes = c/a

so, comparing kx² + 2x + 3k with ax² + bx + c = 0 we get,

  • a = k
  • b = 2
  • c = 3k

then,

→ sum of zeroes = product of zeroes

→ (-b/a) = c/a

→ (-b) = c

→ -2 = 3k

→ k = (-2/3) (Ans.)
