i) Birbal stood holding the clothes of the Emperor and the children.
ii) Birbal was the Emperor
iii) Akbar's sons teased Birbal
iv) Birbal was a man of ready wit.
Once there lived an Emperor called Akbar. Birbal was his minister. Birbal was the cleverest of all
ministers. He was also a man of ready wit and had a good sense of humour. One day Akbar along with his two
sons went to have a bath in the river. Birbal also went with them. Before stepping into the water, the Emperor
and his children took off their clothes and gave them to Birbal.
The king asked him to hold their clothes till they finished their bath. So Birbal was standing on the bank
of the river with their clothes on the shoulder. The emperor then felt like teasing Birbal. So he remarked,
"Birbal you look like a washerman's donkey with a load of clothes." At once Birbal retorted, "Yes but I am
carrying the load of not one donkey but three donkeys." that left the Emperor speechless. Can you guess who
those donkeys were?
(A2) Give a list of Birbal's qualities.
