1) Mumbai is located at 73º E Longitude. Kolkata is located at 88° E Longitude. Find
the difference between the longitudes of these two cities.
2) New Orleans city is located on 90° W longitude. What would be the local time at
New Orleans when it is 6 pm at Greenwich?
3) Tokyo is located at 135º E longitude. What would be the local time at Tokyo when
it is 12 pm in India at 82° 30".

1. longitude of mumbai = 73°

longitude of kolkata = 88°

differences = 88-73= 15°

2. location of New orleans city= 90°W

we know that countries lies west of greenwich there time is beyond

local time of new orleans = 6PM

eaths take 4minutes to rotate 1°

90°=90×4 = 360 minutes

=6 hour

therefore greenwich lies 6 hours ahead of New orleans

so the local time og greenwich is 12 noon
