Covalent bond: A bond formed by shairing of electrons between two atoms is called as covalent bond.

Covalent bond can be of two type :

1. BOND FORMED BY MUTUAL SHAIRING : In this type of bond electrons ar shared by both atoms to form a covalent bond.

Example : Bond between chlorine and chlorine atom in chlorine gas or bond between oxygen and hydrogen in water etc.

2. COORDINATE BOND : In such kind of bonds electrons is given by any one atom and shared by both the atoms.

Example : Bond formed between NH3 and H positive in NH4 or bond formed in carbon monoxide etc.
