Explanation:
The Central Highlands lies to the north of the Narmada river. It covers the major portion of the Malwa plateau. The rivers in this region flow from southwest to northeast; which indicates the slope of this region. It is wider in the west and narrower in the east. Bundelkhand and Baghelkhand mark the eastward extension of this plateau. The plateau further extends eastwards into the Chhotanagpur plateau.
The Malwa Plateau (also called the central highland) is bounded by the Aravalli Hills in the northwest and the Vindhyas in the south. Chhota Nagpur region form the north-eastern part of the Malwa plateau and is the richest mineral producing
region of India. This plateau is wider on the western corner and narrower on the east. Cambal river is the main one. There is no agriculture in this region.
