Google has announced a partnership with the Ministry of HRD’s National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) project, in which some of the country’s best professors will be offering free online courses to anyone interested in learning.

These courses are based on Google’s open-source online courses platform--Course Builder--with the aim of offering free, high-quality educational material to students, along with the ability to earn a certificate at the culmination of each course. Although, while the course itself is free there is a nominal fee involved in taking the examination.

At this time there are 47 courses to choose from, encompassing fields such as Computer Science, Management, Social Sciences, Civil Engineering, Mathematics and Basic Sciences. These courses are
