The resistivity of the wire is ρ = 1.59 x 10^-8 Ω/m

Explanation:

Given data:

Length of wire = 122.7 m

Resistance = 10 ohm

Diameter of the wire = 0.5 mm = 5 x 10^-4 m

Radius "r" = d /2 = 5 x 10^-4/2 = 2.5 x 10^-4 m

Area = πr^2 = π x ( 2.5 x 10^-4) m^2 = 3.14 x 6.25 x 10^-8 m

                   = 19.625 x 10^-8 m^2

Temperature "T" = 20 degree

R = ρL/A

ρ = RA /L

ρ = 10 x 19.625 x 10^-8 / 122.7

ρ =  196.25 x 10^-8 / 122.7

ρ = 1.59 x 10^-8 Ω/m

Thus the resistivity of the wire is ρ = 1.59 x 10^-8 Ω/m
