It can be written as

x\propto \frac{1}{y}x∝y1

It means that x=\frac{k}{y}x=yk where k is a constant.

Also y is inversely proportional to x can be written as

y\propto \frac{1}{x}y∝x1

It means that y=\frac{k}{x}y=xk where k is a constant.

Then we can have that  x=\frac{k}{y}x=yk

xy=k

Option C) is correct

∴ xy equals to constant i.e, xy=k(constant).
