Q.4. A train starting from rest, picks up speed of 20 ms 1 in 200s, it continues to move at same rate for the next 500s and then it is brought to rest in another 100 s.
a) Plot a speed time graph
b) From the graph calculate:
10 uniform rate of acceleration
() total distance covered before stopping
(1) Average speed over total journey (iv) acceleration between 2005 to 700
05: A bus is moving on a straight road with a uniform velocity of 36m/s. It undergoes uniform retardation such that its velocity becomes 20 m/s after 4 seconds. Then it moves with a constant speed
of 20 m/s for next 4 seconds and then accelerates at the constant rate of 2m/s2 for 5 seconds. Plot velocity-time graph for the motion of the bus. Using this graph, calculate
(1) retardation (ii) the distance covered by bus during zero acceleration and
(1) Final velocity at the end of 5 seconds of uniform positive acceleration.
