Q.4 Answer the following questions. (any one) 1) Read the following passage and answer the question given below .
The home electrical connection consists of live neutral' and earth wires. The "live and the neutral wires have potential difference of 220 v The earth is connected to ground Due to a fault in the equipment or if the plastic coating on the live' and the neutral wires gives away the two wires come in contact with each other and a large current flows through it producing hear) If any inflammable matenal (such as wood cloth, plastic etc.) exists around that place it can catch fire Therefore, a fuse wire is used as a precautionary measure. As soon as high current flows in a circuit the fuse wire melts and breaks the circuit and any mishap is avoided.
a) Home electrical connection consist of which type of wires ?
b) How much potential difference is present between live and neutral wire ?
c) When large amount of current will flow through an electric circuit ?
d) What do you mean by shortcircuit? e) State the use of fuse wire.

1)The home electrical wires consists live, neutral, and earth wire
2) The "live and the neutral wires have potential difference of 220 v
3)When live and neutral wire comes in contract
4) faulty or accidental connection between two points of different potential in an electric circuit, bypassing the load and establishing a path of low resistance through which an excessive current can flow.
5) Fuse wires are used to protect the electrical appliances from the sudden increase in the current, which can damage the appliances

Hope that helps :D
