(1) Iodine solution is used to test leaves for the presence of starch. METHOD You need to heat a plant leaf in boiling water for 30 seconds ( this will stop the chemical reaction ) heat it in a boiling ethanol for a few minutes ( this removes most of its colour)

(2) burn a small piece of the fabric to identify the fiber used in it. Natural fiber like wool, when burnt, it smells like a burning hair. Natural fibers also tend to have steady flames. In the case of synthetic fibers, they melt and start dripping and can leave hard ash at times.

(3) To determine whether a substance is an acid or a base, count the hydrogens in each substance before and after the reaction. If the number of Hydrogen has decreased, that substance is acid ( donates hydrogen ions ). If the number of hydrogen has increased, that substance is base ( accepts hydrogen ions ).

Hope this will help u
