Solution:

  • From the given data we can find that the max frequency is 48 and the class corresponding frequency to it is  340-349.
  • Therefore the median is  =340-349
  • Therefore the values here given are,

         f_{1} =48 ,  f_{0} =38,   f_{2} =27, l=340, h=9m

  • ∴ mode can be found by using the formula,

           m=l+\frac{f_{1}-f_{0}}{2f_{1}-f_{0}{-f_2} }(h)

               =340+\frac{48-38}{(2)48-38-27} (9)

              =340+\frac{10}{96-65} (9)

              =340+\frac{10}{31} (9)

             =340+2.9

             =342.9

answer:  the median and mode are =340-349 and =342.9 respectively.
