AnswEr :

Radius of the wheel is 14 cm .

GivEn :

Distance covered = 88 m

Total number of revolutions = 100

To find :

Radius of the wheel = ?

Solution :

Total distance covered in 1 revolution = 88/100 = 22/25 m

As we know that, wheel is in circular shape,

So,

➝ Circumference = Total distance covered in 1 revolution

➝ Circumference = 22/25

➝ 2π × r = 22/25

➝ 2 × 22/7 × r = 22/25

➝ 2× 22 / 7 × r = 22 /25

➝ r = 22 × 7/25 × 2 × 22

➝ r = 7/ 2 × 25

➝ r = 7/50 m

Now, convert it into cm :

  • r = 7/50 = 7/50 × 100 = 14 cm

\therefore Radius of the wheel is 14 cm.

Additional information :

Circumference of a circle is also called as its perimeter.

Some important formulae :

  • Circumference of a circle = 2πR

  • Area of a circle = πr²

  • Diameter of a Circle (D) = 2 × r

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the radius of the wheel be r.

Then, the distance covered by it in 1 revolution = its circumference = 2

So, distance covered in 100 revolution = 100×2πr

⇒ 88m = 200×\frac{22}{7}×r

⇒ r = \frac{88}{200}×\frac{7}{22}

⇒ r = \frac{7}{50} m = 0.14 m = 14 cm
